About artist
Salvador Dalí
Figueras, Spanien, 1904 — 1989

The Spanish painter, graphic artist, writer, sculptor and stage designer Salvador Dalí (1904, Figueres – 1989, Figueres) is considered one of the cardinal representatives of Surrealism and one of the most famous artists of the 20th century. By and around the year 1929, Dalí had uncovered his personal style and genre: the world of the unconscious, residing and metastasizing in dreams. Melting clocks, crutches and burning giraffes became identifying features in Dalí's paintings.
