About artist
Robert Schaberl
Feldbach, Österreich, 1961

The Austrian artist Robert Schaberl (*1961, Feldbach) studied visual arts education at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg from 1979 to 1985. His painting style is characterized by recurring circular forms. In early photographic works, the reduction to round forms can be seen. Through the application of several layers of paint and the subsequent reflection of light, the colours and spatial effects of his images change depending on the viewing angle of the observer.
Schaberl has been working in Vienna since 2002. In 2007, he won the Kunst am Bau competition of the Graz University of Technology and was commissioned to artistically design the new building of the University.
