Thomas Seilnacht, painter and author, was born in Basel in 1963. His painting is dedicated to mountain landscapes, especially in combination with lakes. Seilnacht makes his paintings with self-made pigments, preferring the blue ultramarine. The use of this traditional blue tone used in fresco and church painting gives Seilnacht's mountain landscapes a characteristic luminosity. Mainly in blue, turquoise and green nuances, Seilnacht paints his most popular motifs, Swiss mountain landscapes; the Niesen, the Matterhorn, the Säntis, Piz Bernina, the Weisshorn and Lake Sils. Seilnacht lives and works in Bern.
